| Great Game, Bad translation 😔 | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 03:07 Claiming this. The RA community needs Mark's crazy dancing, and I'll be more than happy to try my shot at delivering it. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 10:18 I hope this has the japanese version supported, it's the only way to play the Snow Queen storyline which is imo the best part of the game | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 11:27 YEAH! Thanks, @bearfax62! =D The japanese version have a english patch, @BahamutVoid? =o | ||||||||||||||||||||

| This will be for Revelations, sorry. Maybe one day when RAPSP is a thing I'll make a set for that version too, but I'd rather not force players to use a version in a different language just to get a set of achievements. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 20:55 Last Edit: 16 Jan, 2021 20:56 You can also provide a save file for the Snow Queen path as it just requires a flag being set, all the content is still physically on the disc. The set won't feel complete if it's missing that much content. You can read more about it here: https://megamitensei.fandom.com/wiki/Snow_Queen_Quest | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 22:42 I'll consider it but no promises. Even aside from the untranslated dialogue there's some pretty nasty glitches in the Revelations port of it, if I do go for it I'll probably end up making them a bonus set for the Japanese version. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 23:16 @BahamutVoid This set is for Revelations: Persona, which doesn't have that content in it. Please wait for PSP support to release and make achievements for that version yourself. Since based off your demands to this developer, you don't think what these people do is very hard work. Looking forward to your set! | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 23:29 Oh my... A valid question with a possible (even though not perfect) workaround provided. How utterly offensive, indeed. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 16 Jan, 2021 23:46 @Arekdias I'll admit I was too blunt with Bahamut, he was being nice about it and that's my b for responding like that. It was a valid question that doesn't yet have a valid answer. Bearfax is a close friend of mine, and I get pretty defensive when I interpret people as mistreating him or taking advantage of his kindness. You, on the other hand, misunderstood my point somewhat. The Japanese version doesn't have an English patch, which means the whole set would have to be remade from scratch to add Snow Queen support. Not only that, but the whole game would be in a language that the developer has no proficiency in. On top of that, there is another version of this game in English with this content. If it somehow one day received RA support, that would not only be much easier to develop that content for, but would also create a beautiful differentiation between the two sets. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 17 Jan, 2021 00:30 Last Edit: 17 Jan, 2021 00:32 I understood your point, worry not. I agree that it is best to wait for PSP support or for someone with enough knowledge of the language to make a set for japanese version. I know a little about what BahamutVoid suggested (the Snow Queen quest is accessible on US disk through Action Replay codes but without text because no japanese alphabet data is present there) but even with a save provided I do not think that I'd play it like that just for the sake of getting achievements. At the same time I can understand those who want something from the quest in the set. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 17 Jan, 2021 08:03 Last Edit: 17 Jan, 2021 08:06 It's a shame, but considering that access to Snow Queen in Revelations requires a workaround by using cheats or external save files, and also how buggy it is, with gibberish text and possibility of freezes, it really shouldn't be in a normal set as it is not really part of this version. Maybe in a bonus set (if one is ever made) or a different set for the Japanese version. Speaking of which, are separate sets for different languages with content differences allowed here? | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 17 Jan, 2021 08:11 They're usually allowed if they're different enough to justify it. Language alone isn't enough, but as long as the memory matches up with the achievement logic and the dev doesn't use text addresses, it's not much of an issue. Won't be an issue at all once we can make hash-specific conditions and start splitting achievements into groups. |

Persona began life as a spin-off from Atlus’ Megami Tensei franchise with the first game, Revelations: Persona, released in 1996 on the very first PlayStation console. Nope, just play the psp version with music patch (though that doesn't have all the PS1 songs) 7.
